# Alliance, Faction, and Network World-System Integration Report

## Status

Current implementation and local validation report for IARPG-OPS-2 2.0.14-wip. Review state: **current with explicit factual, safety, and promotion limitations**.

## Purpose

Document the full incorporation of six supplied alliance, alignment, faction-recruitment, lone-actor, and fictional-worldbuilding reports into durable memory, active `.uai` routing, machine-readable world data, and public IARPG content.

## Scope

This report covers the six source files preserved under `docs/source-files/alliance-and-faction-systems-research/`, their six canonical reviewed-with-limitations reports, the fictional `alliance-network.json` publication, the Alliance Observatory, Faction Directory, Network Influence Lab, related public-content changes, hot-memory routes, source and report manifests, discovery data, validation evidence, and release packaging. It does not certify the archival reports as current geopolitical, legal, clinical, market, vendor, or operational intelligence.

## Executive Summary

IARPG now has a domain-specific relationship system rather than a binary faction-alignment chart. The public prototype models **12 original fictional factions**, **27 simultaneous relationships**, **14 relationship types**, **8 cooperation domains**, a **7-stage alliance lifecycle**, a **10-level influence-evidence continuum**, **4 alliance stress tests**, and **12 non-actionable mission seeds**. Players and designers can explore how factions cooperate, compete, hedge, deconflict, depend on one another, fracture internally, and revise their positions when evidence changes.

The six supplied reports are preserved individually, wrapped as canonical durable reports, and bounded by 36 explicit publication dispositions. Current site use retains useful institutional mechanics—relationship taxonomy, lifecycle, burden and dependency, local autonomy, evidence confidence, faction access and retention, network adjacency, disengagement, civil-liberties safeguards, and fictional uncertainty—while rejecting simplistic good-versus-evil blocs, identity profiling, vulnerability scoring, coercive recruitment guidance, actionable covert support, and unverified current geopolitical claims.

## Findings

### The world needed domain-specific relationships

A single friendly-hostile meter cannot represent alliances, strategic partnerships, intelligence liaison, economic dependence, technology cooperation, humanitarian access, deconfliction, hedging, sponsorship, rivalry, or contested claims. The implemented data model records relationship type, domains, lifecycle stage, public rationale, tensions, evidence visibility, confidence, and change triggers independently.

### Alliances are institutions with lifecycles

The implemented lifecycle is `Contact → Confidence building → Limited cooperation → Formalization → Integration → Stress test → Adaptation`. A relationship may pause, narrow, move backward, fragment, hedge, or dissolve. Formal agreements and practical behavior remain separate, and every stress test can expose internal blocs, burden disputes, dependency, and exit costs.

### Factions are internally plural

The 12 fictional factions are not national stereotypes or single minds. Every dossier includes practical interests, internal blocs, decision process, dependencies, legitimacy, oversight, rights concerns, affected-community perspective, uncertainty, access model, relationship to independent actors, and likely change pressures. No faction is permanently heroic, villainous, rational, irrational, loyal, deceptive, lawful, or violent by identity.

### Informal alignment requires evidence of the actual relationship

Shared adversaries, common rhetoric, parallel action, trade, or post-event praise do not establish alliance, sponsorship, proxy control, or command. The public system distinguishes support, direction, autonomy, dependency, deconfliction, opportunistic transaction, intermediary roles, and disputed attribution. Confidence is attached to evidence, not repeated accusation.

### Recruitment is modeled as organizational access—not persuasion tradecraft

The faction system can describe open applications, formal eligibility, sponsorship, invitation-only access, contract work, supporter networks, screening, socialization, retention, internal trust, refusal, exit, and reintegration. It does not produce recruitability scores, vulnerability profiles, persuasion scripts, covert contact methods, blackmail, coercion, target selection, or instructions for joining real groups.

### “Lone” does not automatically mean isolated

The influence continuum separates no known connection, general exposure, passive consumption, community participation, peer reinforcement, contact, encouragement, support, tasking, direction, membership, post-event adoption, public claims, disavowal, and false attribution. The public Network Influence Lab emphasizes protective factors, false positives, civil liberties, disengagement, and behavior-specific evidence rather than identity-based suspicion.

### The site now offers an advanced playable research surface

The Alliance Observatory provides an interactive browser-local network, filters by domain and relationship type, faction dossiers, an accessible relationship table, lifecycle explanation, scenario stress tests, and mission-seed generation. The Faction Directory exposes faction anatomy and a local blueprint builder. The Network Influence Lab turns evidence distinctions, prevention, refusal, disengagement, correction, and mediation into safe fictional mission concepts.

### The interface contract remains intact

Search and release context remain in the compact non-sticky masthead. The logo and primary navigation remain in `.menu-strip`, the sole sticky surface. The five-path `/start` hero remains unchanged. New surfaces reuse the shared density tokens and introduce no remote runtime dependencies.

## Decisions or Recommendations

- Treat `alliance-network.json` as a fictional reference dataset, not a current real-world intelligence feed.
- Preserve simultaneous, domain-specific relationships; never collapse every interaction into one alignment score.
- Require a confidence, source, truth-boundary, disagreement, and correction model before any future real-world relationship dataset is published.
- Represent every faction through internal plurality, dependencies, oversight, rights impacts, affected communities, and change pressures.
- Keep recruitment content organizational, defensive, and non-actionable; prohibit vulnerability scoring and coercive or clandestine recruitment guidance.
- Use the influence continuum to separate exposure, social reinforcement, support, direction, command, post-event adoption, and false attribution.
- Expand future missions around alliance consultation, burden sharing, mediation, deconfliction, source protection, rumor correction, refusal, disengagement, and reintegration rather than simplistic faction combat.
- Preserve the current single-sticky-row shell while testing the new dense surfaces on external browsers and assistive technology.

## Risks and Limitations

- The source reports contain time-sensitive real-world claims that were not exhaustively reverified during this design integration. Their Reviewed Synthesis sections—not archival prose—control current reuse.
- The fictional dataset demonstrates an architecture and worldbuilding method; it does not prove balance, entertainment value, player comprehension, or production scalability.
- Organizational archetypes can still become stereotypes if future writers omit internal disagreement, local context, rights, oversight, affected communities, or uncertainty.
- Prevention-oriented influence material can be misused if converted into individual profiling. The site therefore prohibits recruitability scoring, identity-based suspicion, and actionable coercion or targeting.
- Local deterministic validation does not establish real-world geopolitical accuracy, legal compliance, clinical validity, native-browser parity, assistive-technology speech output, field performance, or production-host behavior.

## Validation Performed

- Preserved all six supplied Markdown files individually and recorded SHA-256 values.
- Created six canonical reviewed-with-limitations reports under `docs/long-term-memory/reports/` with bidirectional UAI links.
- Validated the review register and 36 unique publication dispositions.
- Validated `alliance-network.json` against its local JSON Schema and checked all faction, relationship, domain, lifecycle, influence, stress-test, and mission references.
- Checked PHP, JavaScript, Python, JSON, XML, CSS, relative documentation links, heading anchors, pointer paths, checksums, public UAI mirrors, source lineage, search records, sitemap routes, browser fixtures, structural accessibility, local delivery budgets, isolated-host behavior, and controlled TLS-edge behavior during release finalization.
- Confirmed `.menu-strip` remains the only sticky surface and the five-path `/start` hero remains present.
- Built a flat archive with no nested archive and compared a fresh extraction byte for byte.

## Supersession Status

Current for IARPG-OPS-2 2.0.14-wip. Future releases may expand the faction roster, relationship model, independent review, or player evidence while preserving the stable report identity, source provenance, fairness rules, and non-actionability boundary.
